How often must aligners be worn?
You should wear your aligners at least 22 hours per day. Unlike traditional metal braces, you can remove them before you eat or drink. They can also be removed to prepare for brushing your teeth.
What can I eat during the treatment?
There are no dietary restrictions during an Invisalign treatment. Before eating however, you can remove your aligners. We do recommend that patients follow a healthy and balanced diet.
Does wearing aligners affect my speech?
There may be a short adjustment period where you will experience irregular speech patterns such as a lisp. These are temporary conditions and will disappear after 1-2 days.
Do Invisalign aligners cause discomfort?
Invisalign aligners may come with minor discomfort and pressure, but it is temporary. This is actually a sign that your teeth are moving to their correct position.
Should I clean my aligners?
Aligners require the same level of care as for teeth. You can brush them regularly with toothpaste to keep them fresh and clean.
Do I need retainers after the treatment?
You have the option of wearing retainers at night. These appliances are essential to maintaining the shape of your teeth and sustaining the correct bite.
How long does the treatment take?
The length of the treatment can vary depending on the severity of misalignment. For most patients, they begin seeing results between 6 to 18 months.
